Elora J spears the accepted and the comfortable fallacies of day to day life with her art: scenes which depicts on the one hand, cabaret creation, and on the other, the real and deeply every-day self. A dormant carnavalesque. Her characters are compiled by layers, feathered strokes and deliberate detail.
It begins somewhere in the eyes. While Elora J implies that there is no real knowing the trajectory of her figures, she always starts humbly, scribbling until a feeling emerges from the gray. She looks for a resonance. This feeling is elusive and the open space under her bed is often webbed with some few forgotten paintings waiting to be refreshed: to become what is new and yet real.
